Scope and content: Two criminal dockets containing summaries of all actions taken in criminal cases appearing before the justice of the peace of Burlington, Kansas. The volumes are organized by date and include 1888-1911 and 1921-1928. Both volumes contain an alphabetical index organized by surname of plaintiff with corresponding page numbers. The entries provide a record of court appearances showing case number, title and cause, attorneys, dates and nature of pleadings filed and writs issued, sheriff’s return, court orders, record of fees and costs, and summaries of judgment for each case. The crimes include assault, battery, theft, drunkenness, and disturbing the peace. Provides a good synopsis of each case.
