Scope and content: This unit consists of 41 oversized volumes (approximately 20 cubic feet) of records of the clothing issued to Kansas military personnel (identified alphabetically by surname within their company) during their enlistment during the Civil War and its aftermath. Each entry includes its monetary value, each man's rank and signature, and a witness's signature. Two volumes (#02334) are for the 2nd and 3rd regiments of the Indian Home Guard. The remaining thirty-nine volumes (#02332) contain clothing book entries for the regiments and companies of the Kansas Volunteer Battery, Infantry, and Cavalry.
