Scope and content: Thirty-eight school registers (for school years 1938-1939, 1939-1940, and 1940-1941) for nineteen Hodgeman County school districts (two registers per district). Each register provides the following information for each student: name; grade; school last attended; date of birth; gender; a parent's name; residence; and grades per subject. Each class includes a daily schedule of subjects and activities. Each new school year's register includes the "Teacher's First Week's Report to County Superintendent" report of the teacher's name, contract dates, education and professional experience, and the teacher's assessments of the condition of the school's building and grounds, the number of students enrolled in each grade, and an inventory of school equipment.
