Scope and content: Microfilmed indexes documenting deeds and land ownership in Chase County. The volumes are organized by range number and include ranges 5-9. The entries within the volumes are organized according to section and township within each range. The entries list the name of the instrument (patent, warrant deed, etc.), date, grantor, grantee, volume, page number, and a brief description of the land. The townships represented within each volume include: Range 9: TWSP 18-22; Range 8: TWSP 18-22; Range 7: TWSP 18-22; Range 6: TWSP 18-22; and Range 5: TWSP 20-21. The volume containing land deeds in range 9 also contains deeds for town lots for a variety of cities such as Cottonwood Falls, Strong City, Elmdale, Cedar Point, Clements, Saffordville, Matfield Green, and Bazaar. These entries are organized by block number and list the name of the instrument, grantor, grantee, and date of filing.
