Proclamation Files

Restrictions: Per KSA 75-104, as of 1991, records of former governors who are still alive are closed until their deaths, unless the governor orders that the records be opened. Certain records may still remain closed due to falling under KSA 45-221, the Open Records Act, or under other such statutes that generally or specifically affect the openness of public records. Scope and content: Series includes official copies of proclamations with state seal and governor's signature as well as copies of proclamations, arranged alphabetically by title, in files that can also include contact information for organization involved in requesting the proclamation, correspondence, and other related materials; some proclamations requested but not made are also in the series. Series includes a set of log books concerning proclamations made, with such information as the contact information for organization or event being proclaimed, date proclamation was signed, and any other information noted down.
