Scope and content: Photocopy of a 275-page typed, double-spaced manuscript by Dr. Herbert Stream and Lucy Freeman, a fictionalized account of a patient ("Nancy Winthrop") in long-term psychoanalytic treatment, largely written in first person from the psychiatrist's point of view. Takes place in New York City. Includes table of contents, acknowledgements, prologue and epilogue; was written in five parts containing 11 chapters. Photocopied pages include handwritten corrections and changes, as well as notes to publisher and book designer. The title page indicates the copyright was 1989; the book takes place 1980-1984.
