Scope and Content

Scope and content: Series mostly consists of glass slides (various sizes) depicting drawings, maps, photographs, and other materials related to two of C. F. Menninger's main interests in life: horticulture and medicine. Topics include the vegetable kingdom, trees, lilies, peonies, orchids, roses, sunflowers, the life cycle of ferns, plant physiology, desert plants, trees, vegetables, fruits, flowers, religion, diseases of the nervous system, brain tumors, endocrines, slides used at the Mayo Clinic, and ego function. Sometimes includes some lecture notes that C.F. used in conjunction with the slides. Also in the series are two wax cylinders, apparently of Rosemary Menninger (C.F.'s adoptive granddaughter) in 1950, when she was still a toddler.
