Scope and content: Papers related to C.F. Menninger's professional and semi-professional activities and interests. Includes materials from his time at university and during his medical studies; from his work--both during his private practice era and from his time after the Menninger Clinic opened--materials related to memorials for him after his death, especially his plaque at the C.F. Menninger Memorial Hospital; membership in the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle (CLSC); biographical information, etc. The series particularly includes information about his interests in kidney and pancreatic diseases, and in diabetes.

Types of records include copies of speeches he gave, memoranda and (mostly incoming) correspondence, clippings and copies of articles, edited autopsy reports from the Massachusetts General Hospital, membership cards and awards, photographs, memorials and tributes, sample and informational materials, notebooks, and other related materials. The series includes correspondence between Walker Winslow, Menninger family members, and others regarding the publication of his book, The Menninger Story; as well as some correspondence with journalist Albert Deutsch.
