Consists of incoming and copies of outgoing letters to and from Edwin Menninger involving his siblings, parents, wives Ella and Patsy, son Edwin Jr. and daughter Barbara, and others. Topics can include Edwin's work, first in New York as a cable or telegraph editor and later in Florida as newspaper editor and writing/publishing or otherwise working with horticulture; family news; holidays and gifts received or given; health and sickness (including Edwin's failing eyesight); gardening and plants; mother's autobiography; and other related topics. Much of the series consists of round robin group letters Edwin sent to "dear ones hither and yon."
