Scope and content: The documents in this file pertain to the appointment of Judge of the 11th Judicial District in the State of Kansas. A letter, February 24, 1873, from D. S. McIntosh, recommends C. G. Hawley of Crawford County for the appointment as Judge of the 11th Judicial District. A petition from members of the Bar of Crawford County also requests C. G. Hawley to fill the vacancy. A petition from attorneys of Montgomery County recommends Hawley as a qualified and competent person to fill the position as the Judge. A letter on February 18, 1873, from George H. Reynolds, requests the appointment of Judge of the 11th Judicial District to be given to B. W. Perkins.
