Scope and content: A letter on December 11, 1876, from G. H. Hankort, requests the appointment as Notary Public and asks Governor Osborn for a certificate of service during the Rebellion as Captain of Company B. 13th Kansas Volunteers. A letter on September 30, 1875, from W. H. Hornor of Baxter Springs, states they do not have a resident Notary Public and requests the position. A telegraph on March 21, 1875, from Ira J. Jacob, H. M. Robinson, E. N. Morrill, and W. B. Barnett advises the Governor to revoke the commission of George E. Clayton as Notary Public as he was in the penitentiary of Kansas for perjury. The following correspondence pertains to appointments as Notary Public, certificate of commission, and requests to withdraw certain individuals as Notary Public.
