Scope and content: A letter from E. J. Bell of Lane County, Kansas asks Governor St. John who has jurisdiction over Lane County, he explains in his letter there have been parties who have been attacking cattle men. A separate letter to Kansas Governor St. John also inquiries whether the Governor has jurisdiction in Lane County as well as other organized counties. There is a letter from R. H. Mitchell asking Governor St. John questions regarding attached unorganized counties to organized counties for judicial purposes. Other letters in this file are in regard to boundary lines in Lane County, voting in unorganized counties, and legislative actions.
