Abstract: Genealogies, photographs, correspondence, clippings, personal papers, and other materials documenting genealogical research and publications about the Vandervelde family in Kansas, particularly Emporia. Much of the correspondence and written genealogies are from Conrad Vandervelde and his wife Kate Annelia Cross Vandervelde. Included are genealogies from related families such as the de Swarte family, Cross family, and Van Egen family. Also included are newsletters, yearbooks, scrapbooks, and other materials from Emporia State University and Ottawa Christian College where several family members attended. The collection includes J. Eldon Fields' diaries and other materials including files regarding the Philippines during World War II.
