Biographical sketch: Evelyn Jo (McKee) Renchler grew up in Howard, Elk County, Kansas and graduated from high school during the Second World War. Eventually she moved to New Mexico, where she died in 2003.
Abstract:
The materials include scrapbooks (including photographs, newspaper clippings, dried flowers, announcements, and other ephemera) and photograph albums, certificates and awards, sheet music, letters and postcards, guest books, newspaper clippings, daily diaries, and other types of documents.
The collection comes from Howard, Madison, Emporia, Minneapolis, and other parts of eastern Kansas; it also includes materials from New Mexico and Florida. Most of the materials concern the McKee family, as well as Milners, Huntsingers, and others. The family photographs stretch back into the 19th century, but the majority of the materials date from the first half of the 20th century.
