Biographical sketch: Ned Kehde grew up in Sedalia, Missouri, and he began fishing in 1947 on Cole Camp Creek, a small feeder to the Lake of the Ozarks. His early interest in fishing led him to his first job in the industry, guiding clients at Potthoff's Minnewawa Lodge in Nisswa, Minnisota, where he worked for five years. Back in Missouri, he resumed his guiding career at Carrington's Two Water Resort on the Gravois Arm of Lake of the Ozarks, where his colleague Guido Hibdon worked until 1970. In the early 1980s, Ned began writing free-lance articles for In-Fisherman, and also wrote regular columns for two newspapers and other publications. Ned's accounts of the tactics of top pro bass anglers are widely acclaimed for the precise and insightful descriptions of the approaches of these experts. In recent years, he has experimented widely with finesse tactics for bass. He fishes over 125 days a year. Kehde's professional career was as archivist at the University of Kansas where he worked by 33 years.
