Abstract: The Kansas Youthpower State Committee records contains correspondence, clippings, minutes, programs, and memoranda documenting the organization's educational nutrition and food industry programs for Kansas youth. Additionally, the records document the organization's administrative functions. Much of the correspondence is from Betty Lou Denton, a former Home Editor of Kansas Farmer Magazine, who served as the committee's recording secretary. The correspondence is between Denton and youths concerning food and nutrition projects. Other correspondence is between the committee, State Board of Agriculture, and Kansas Farm Bureau regarding projects on food health, careers, food economics, and food science and technology. The collection also includes meeting minutes, conference materials, and clippings discussing similar topics.

The program was sponsored by individuals integrated in food and nutrition, food industry companies, and organizations which produce, process, and market the United States food supply.
