During bad weather, the Governor may issue a Declaration of Inclement Weather, which closes state offices in Shawnee County. This includes the Kansas Museum of History, the State Archives research room, and the Kansas State Capitol Visitor's Center. It also includes specifically the Charles Curtis House State Historic Site. Declarations will be noted on our website and by local media outlets.
All other State Historic Sites may be closed for inclement weather based on local conditions. Closures for these sites will be noted on our website and by their respective local media outlets.
Please remember to travel safely if doing so in inclement weather!
