Fairway - Fall Ethnobotany Class - Shawneee Indian Mission State Historic Site

Explore the beautiful grounds of the Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site with Mary Grinter, a Missouri Master Naturalist and graduate student of Indigenous ethnobotany. Grinter is a member of the Kansas Delaware Tribe and an employee at the Mission. She will lead participants through the 12-acre site, sharing how Indigenous peoples and pioneers depended on plants for food, medicine, and daily life during the mid-1800’s. Join us to discover how plants tell the stories of history, culture, and relationship to the land. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, $8 Fairway resident, $10 non-resident.
