about the program. The Certification Program combines hands-on instruction, experience, and formal classes in the basic skills and techniques of Plains archeology. Established in 1974, the program guides amateur archeologists in personal study and achievement. Completing each area of the program is an indication of knowledge and competence. However, it should not be construed as license to excavate without professional supervision. The meeting will be held at Old Ruppenthal Middle School, 400 N. Elm in Russell.
