Russell - National Register Workshop

Join the Kansas Historic Preservation Office (HPO) for a Register of Historic Places workshop in Russell. Interested in learning how historic places are recognized and preserved? Every other year, HPO staff hold a workshop for researching and writing nominations to the State and National Registers of Historic Places. This year, it will be in person! This free event is designed for anyone interested in historic preservation, local history, or the nomination process.

Fundamentals for writing a nomination
Types of properties that can be listed
Researching historic places
Identifying and developing context
How to: photos, maps, and boundaries
Timeline and steps in the process
