Scott Schwab

Politician, small business owner. Born: Great Bend, Barton County, Kansas. Elected to Kansas House of Representatives in 2002. Serves as the 32nd Kansas Secretary of State, January 14, 2019, to present.

Scott Schwab was born in Great Bend, Kansas, where he grew up. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University in Hays. He operated a small business and was a national sales trainer for a Fortune 50 company in the pharmaceutical industry.

He began his career in public service when he was elected to the Kansas House of Representatives in 2002. In the Kansas House he was vice chair for the elections committee, and served on the commerce and labor, health and human services, and aging and long term care committees. He was also vice chair of the house insurance and financial institutions committee and house speaker pro tempore.

Schwab was elected Kansas Secretary of State in 2018. He and hie family live in Overland Park.
