STAMP, EMBOSSING

Physical Description: Japanned metal. As handle at top is depressed, two round metal plates are pushed together to create embossed impression on paper. Heavy metal body, base and handle. Painted gold at edges. The embossed impression is round with lettering around the outside edge. At center is a cross within a shield. At the ends of the cross are the letters "W / K / K / K."

History of Object: The embosser stamp was given to Museum director Mark Hunt by a woman who said that the embosser was given to her by a friend. Both women wanted to remain anonymous because of the nature of the object.
