Physical Description: Ku Klux Klan robe of plain white cotton fabric (a), with rope belt (b). Ankle-length robe has full-length center-front closure with six large white shell buttons. Jewel neckline. Half-cape extends over left shoulder from center-back seam to near center-front. Red and white wool felt patch depicting cross is stitched to cape at shoulder. Long, straight set-in sleeves. Three-ply rope belt with knotted ends. Narrow gussets at bottom half of side seams. Machine stitched.

History of Object: Discovered in a milk house on a farm the donor purchased near Ozawkie. The Klan first infiltrated Kansas in 1921. The state legally ousted it in 1925. See accession file.
