The Lone Star Lake CCC Camp is located in the campground at Lone Star Lake Park, a 422-acre park in southwest Douglas County, Kansas, approximately 10 miles southwest of Lawrence, Kansas. The Lone Star Lake CCC Camp was constructed in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps; originally, the camp had 26 buildings. Today, there are only remnants of the Lone Star Lake CCC Camp, including the stone water tower, four stone fireplaces, a stone firepit, and a stone staircase. The property is eligible for its association with New Deal-era projects and its rustic architecture.
