Samuel Dinsmoor
(1843 - 1932)
- Civil War veteran, teacher, sculptor, and grassroots artist
- Moved to Kansas in 1888 and began farming near Lucas
- At age 64 built a limestone home
- Constructed Garden of Eden with more than 200 concrete sculptures, now in the National Register of Historic Places
