Volunteer

Docent with school groupVolunteers are essential to the Kansas Historical Society’s mission. With a variety of roles available, your time and talent help preserve and share the stories that shape Kansas history. Most volunteer opportunities are based at the Kansas Historical Society in Topeka, but volunteers also support operations at state historic sites, the Kansas State Capitol, and the Kansas Historical Foundation, our private 501(c)(3) organization.

Archeology

Help process archeological and ethnographic collections, digitize images and slides, and provide data entry support. Whether you are handling an artifact or preserving a cultural record, your work makes Kansas history accessible.
