Galen Swenson earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Kansas State University.
He owns and operates a farm and ranch with 5,000 acres in wheat and sorghum and 200 head of beef cattle in Salina. In 2001 the U.S. Department of Agriculture appointed him to the Farm Service Agency in Kansas. He serves on the board of the Greater Salina Community Foundation and Bethany Home.
Swenson was elected to the Kansas Historical Foundation Board of Directors in 2016.
