Terry W. Marmet is serving as Interim CEO for the Kansas Historical Foundation. Over the span of a 38-year career at the Kansas State Historical Society (KSHS), Terry Marmet has been devoted to the preservation and interpretation of significant Kansas historic buildings and properties. Marmet developed historic structure reports and historic site preservation plans; devised appropriate preservation and restoration treatments and practices; located experienced preservation craftspeople; recommended exhibits interpreting the building's history; and secured public and private funding sources to achieve each owner's objectives and project budget goals.

In 2011, Marmet retired from the state agency and began work with the Kansas Historical Foundation, the non-profit organization, which raises private funds to support the activities of the state agency. As the director of operations, he managed membership activities and retail operations. He oversaw the development and opening of a first-class store featuring Kansas-made products in the newly restored Kansas State Capitol in Topeka. He retired from the Foundation in 2016.
